Meet Ivy and Red Dawn’s red Moyen Poodles
Ivy welcomed nine red Moyen Poodle puppies on October 8, four boys and five girls, and we are all enjoying these sweet new babies. Every day they’re a little bigger, a little braver and a lot more curious. They’ll head to their new homes on December 7, just in time for Christmas, and should grow to about 22–32 lbs.
Meet the parents
Ivy, the mom, is an outgoing, social girl with a sweet heart and a smart head. She’s happiest right beside her people, and she’s a gentle, patient mama to her puppies.
Red Dawn, the dad, is our resident clown. He’s playful, fun-loving and smart, and he has a way of turning an ordinary afternoon into a laugh for the whole family. He’s also one of the healthiest dogs we’ve raised, with a PennHIP score in the tightest 5% for his breed.
We own both parents and their grandparents too, so we know these family lines inside and out. Their genetics stretch back to our foundation lines of poodles here at Sunshine Acres.
A peek at their prior litter
Ivy and Red Dawn have raised puppies together before. These photos from their prior litter show what these little ones should look like at a little before going-home age. The photos in the photo gallery above show Ivy’s current litter (in the newborn photos) with the older puppies show in the photos all being from her prior litter with Red Dawn.

Choosing your puppy
All five girls in this litter are spoken for, and two boy spots are still open. To save one, start with our free application. We’ll reach out within 24 hours to answer your questions. Then a $500 deposit by Venmo or Zelle holds your place, and families choose in the order their deposits arrive.
Your deposit stays fully refundable, and it can move to another litter or breed, right up until you choose your puppy. If none of the boys feels like the right match on picking day, you’re welcome to pass and keep your place for a future litter. Once you choose, the deposit becomes a non-refundable earnest deposit for your puppy.
Picking days are November 19 and 20. Watch this page as the puppies grow, since we’ll add new group photos every couple of weeks. Shortly before picking, we’ll post photos of each puppy, and the morning of, we’ll share videos of them playing. Then we’ll introduce you to each puppy over FaceTime, Zoom or a phone call. If you’d like to see them in person, you’re welcome to visit and meet them through our window. Our veterinarian asks that visitors not handle puppies this young, so they stay safe from outside germs.
If picking day doesn’t work for you, you can choose a day or two early and keep your place in line. We’re always happy to share which puppy we think fits your family best, and the final choice is yours.
A coat that doesn’t shed, and a tail that’s all their own
As purebred Poodles, Moyens don’t shed. Their soft, curly coat makes them one of the most allergy-friendly choices for families who worry about dog allergies. Our Moyen puppies also keep their natural tails. We never dock them, so every wag is the real thing!
How we raise every litter
From the week they’re born, these puppies are snuggled, carried and played with every day by our children, elementary age to teens. In their first weeks, each puppy gets Early Neurological Stimulation, followed by socialization based on Jan Fennell’s Amichien Bonding method. Ivy and Red Dawn both have OFA screening, CAER eye certifications and DNA panels, and we’ve been raising puppies here since 2001.
Bringing your puppy home
Your puppy will be ready on December 7, perfect timing for a Christmas homecoming. Need a later date? Just let us know and we’ll work it out together. If you live too far to drive, we can deliver by flight nanny or airline pet carrier.
At pickup, the balance can be paid by Venmo, Zelle, cash or personal check. If you’re using Venmo or Zelle, check your daily limit a few days ahead, since many accounts cap how much you can send in one day.

“Best breeder for Red Moyen Poodles in the US and the nicest people… Very healthy so far and of course, classic Moyen personality: happy, playful, sweet, loving, very athletic. We were so lucky to get him and can’t thank these folks enough.”
